Abstact
The effective teaching of French as a second language is critical in fostering linguistic competence and cross-cultural understanding in an increasingly interconnected world. This study explores contemporary methodologies for teaching French, aiming to identify strategies that enhance student engagement, comprehension, and language proficiency. By addressing the challenges of traditional approaches and integrating modern pedagogical frameworks, this research provides a comprehensive analysis of effective French teaching practices. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with experienced language instructors and quantitative surveys administered to students. The study also included classroom observations to assess the practical implementation of various methodologies. Key findings reveal that communicative language teaching (CLT), task-based learning (TBL), and technology-enhanced language learning (TELL) significantly improve language acquisition and engagement. These methods prioritize real-world application, collaborative learning, and interactive tools, fostering a dynamic and student-centered learning environment. The implications of this research are substantial for educators, curriculum designers, and policymakers. The adoption of innovative and evidence- based practices can transform French language instruction, addressing diverse learner needs and improving overall outcomes.
