The role of teacher in the realization of French language agenda

Abstract

This study explores the critical role of teachers in promoting the French language agenda, focusing on their contributions to language education and policy implementation. The objective is to examine how teachers facilitate the teaching and learning of French, identify the challenges they face, and evaluate their effectiveness in advancing the agenda. The study also investigates how institutional and policy- related factors influence teachers’ roles in achieving educational goals tied to the French language.

The findings reveal that teachers play a fundamental role in fostering students’ interest and proficiency in French through innovative pedagogical techniques, cultural immersion strategies, and consistent engagement. However, their efforts are often constrained by challenges such as inadequate professional training, lack of teaching materials, and minimal institutional support. These barriers limit their capacity to effectively implement the French language agenda in schools.

This study highlights the significance of empowering teachers through policy reforms, improved training programs, and better resource allocation. Strengthening the role of teachers is essential for the realization of the French language agenda, which has broader implications for regional integration and global competitiveness. The research contributes to language pedagogy by providing actionable insights for policymakers and educators aiming to enhance French language education.
